
About the role
Trade Specialists are an integral part of the Network Engineering Team, bringing certified trade experience and expertise to the site. You will carry out various tasks, including planned, reactive, remedial, and project work, to maintain and enhance building fabric. This work is essential to support the ever-evolving automated and manual building environments and contributes to the overall growth and development of network engineering.
As the Trade Specialist you will also work closely with campus engineering technicians to maintain the operation of branch plant and equipment. Your specialised skill set and high level of understanding are crucial to Primary Distribution, which delivers critical 24/7 E-commerce fulfillment. This service represents approximately 75% of JL's business and relies heavily on the timely delivery of projects, services, parts, and materials to ensure that buildings are safe, compliant, and well-maintained.

Location - This role is based across our Magna Park and Fenny Lock National Distribution Centres

Hours - Please note this role is for 37.5 hours per week. The working pattern is 08:00 - 16:00
Key responsibilities and Essential Skills needed:
In this role, you will be working with the in-house specialist maintenance team, delivering change and design work. This will help reduce or eliminate our dependency on external contractors in a 24-hour environment where SLAs are often business critical.
You will need to demonstrate an understanding of site plant and equipment and help maintain its operation, achieving first fixes in building construction, equipment, and fixtures.
You will also be supporting the engineering technician team, demonstrating eloquence in design and planning, specification setting, and project execution in a CDM-managed environment'.
