With over 335 Waitrose & Partners shops across the UK it’s no mean feat, but join our distribution operation and you’ll be helping to keep our supermarket and customer’s shelves stocked all across the UK. There are two Waitrose & Partners Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) across the UK, located in Bracknell and Aylesford.
Both sites operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide our customers with the high-quality produce that they expect from us. You’ll also find a Transport department and a Vehicle Workshop at these locations too.

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will complete day to day tasks such as:
In our warehouses, you’ll work closely with the other Warehouse Assistant Partners to get deliveries ready to go out to our supermarkets. You’ll also work alongside other Partners such as Managers, Drivers, Administrators and other members of Supply Chain Operations and Logistics.
As this role involves heavy lifting our Warehouse Partners must be active and able to perform physically strenuous tasks. You are required to follow strict guidelines, therefore, must have good standards of written and spoken English. You must be quick on your feet, have good mental arithmetic, spatial awareness, and safe judgement.
It’s important in this role to be reliable, hardworking and a great team player. We look for these traits in our Warehouse Assistants because this position is unique and unlike any other role in the food retail industry. That’s because with our Warehouse team at Waitrose & Partners you’re not just picking delivery orders, but a co-owner of the John Lewis Partnership, the largest employee-owned company in the UK.

It will be your responsibility to liaise with our buyers and place orders with suppliers to ensure our warehouses are sufficiently stocked.

Planners think how we develop our distribution operation, as new branches open or special projects happen. You’ll keep the Partnership running smoothly and incorporate new technologies and initiatives into our Warehouse operations.
You’ll work with Commercial, Retail and Distribution with tasks that range from forecasting and promotional planning to placing orders with suppliers and setting up delivery schedules. This could require detailed analysis, so it tends to suit numerical-thinkers. And as it’s fast-paced, you need to be exceptionally organised, meticulous about detail and love putting customers first.
