As a Catering Assistant, you’ll be the face of John Lewis and act as an ambassador for the brand. This means providing the outstanding service that we’re so well known for. We’ll expect you to take pride in the food that you prepare and have an excellent knowledge of safety and hygiene standards.
We can offer a varied and exciting work environment, whether that’s preparing delicious meals in the kitchen or confidently advising our customers from behind the counter.
Within this role, you will:
You’ll typically be working in our Place to Eat restaurants which are in John Lewis stores throughout the UK. You could also work in our Partner Dining Room, where Partners receive their meals for free. Throughout peak periods, we may expect you to help prepare food at both the Partner Dining Room and front of house.

You’ll also be given full training on food safety, restaurant hygiene and health and safety regulations. Plus, your manager will ensure you know all the fire procedures and how to safely use equipment within the kitchen.
