Management at Waitrose is totally different to anything you might have experienced. The quality (and origin) of the products we sell and the exceptional service we deliver all add up to making this a really exciting place to work. Top this off with the fact that you become a Partner – so you get a share in the profits for all your hard work – and the support you get from our tailored Management Development Programme to be the best you can be, and you’ll see you made the right choice from day one.
Section Managers lead by example. This means you motivate the team by setting the highest standards – whether you’re creating displays, explaining the difference between products to our customers or ordering stock… and you’ll encourage others to do the same.
To be successful, you’ll ideally have experience of working in a customer facing environment, but it’s the ability to inspire those around you that will set you apart. Approachable, supportive and always willing to get stuck in, you only ask of others what you’ll do yourself. Customer service, problem-solving skills and the tenacity to hit targets are all part of your nature. And once you join, the prospects are excellent if you prove yourself as we expect you to.
Assistant Section Manager
As a starter, any supervisory experience would be great. But equally if you show promise, we’ll help to develop your potential. Supporting your manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of a section, you know what needs to be achieved in the day and you can make it happen – even when things change. Hands-on, you take pride in steering the team through the daily challenges, always ensuring the team delivers impeccable presentation and customer service. You have a natural talent to get the best from the team and in return we’ll do the same for you as you’ll have every opportunity to take your career further.
