University isn’t for everyone and here at Waitrose we have a fantastic alternative. Apprenticeships at Waitrose are all about picking up new skills, and lots of them. It’s thirteen months of brilliant training, lots of exposure and an experience you simply couldn’t get anywhere else.
As our IT apprentice, you’ll be the first port-of-call for our 60,000 internal customers. This will give you invaluable exposure and insight into how our many IT solutions are used and how we support them.
In addition to the on the job learning we offer, you’ll be completing your Technology Apprenticeship (Level 3), comprising training in ITIL, CompTIA A+ and Microsoft MTAs in Networking Fundamentals and Mobility and Device Fundamentals.
The role is office based and you’ll work as part of a great team, striving to resolve IT incidents and requests quickly and efficiently. So, if you possess excellent troubleshooting skills, love delivering brilliant customer service and have the ability to learn IT systems quickly; you’ll be a great fit.

How does it work?
Waitrose is working with an external IT & Digital apprenticeship training provider called Arch Apprentices to deliver our IT Apprenticeship, which launches in September 2016. The scheme is designed to offer talented young IT enthusiasts a thirteen month role on a structured programme, combining ‘on the job’ work experience with studying for IT qualifications. At the end of the programme, successful Apprentices will have the opportunity to progress their career within the Waitrose IT team.
During the scheme, Apprentices will spend 6 weeks a year (term time only) at Arch’s training centre in West London (Hammersmith). The remaining time will be spent working in the busy IT Service Desk team within the Waitrose head office in Bracknell, working alongside other members of the IT team to build practical experience and developing skills as they go.

South East England
Pay in range: £10.20 - £13.77, plus benefits. The pay range for this role will increase to £10.38- £13.77 from 1st April 2017.

Pay in range of £11.70 - £15.50 plus shift premium (20%). This is negotiable dependent on relevant skills and experience. The pay range for this role will increase to £12.20 - £15.90 plus shift premium (20%) from 1 April 2017.

Pay in range: £63,500 - £86,500 neg. (From 1st April, this will increase to £64,500 - £86,500)
