Your Application Journey

It‘s an exciting time at the John Lewis Partnership as the application windows for both our Leadership, and Technology graduate programmes are now open!

We understand that graduate scheme applications can be daunting, so we want to give you a helping hand in your journey towards a career at the John Lewis Partnership.

So, what does the application process involve, what you should expect, and what do you need to prepare for?

Online application

The online application is comprised of a number of stages which assess your suitability for the scheme.

First up will be a values based questionnaire which will assess whether your values match that of the Partnership.

Next you will be tested on your ability to interpret, analyse and draw logical conclusions from numerical data in the numerical test, which is followed by a verbal test which assesses your ability to understand, analyse and interpret written information.

If you hit the mark you’ll move on to the management judgement indicator test which assesses your ability regarding management and leadership responsibilities.

Once this is complete, you’re nearly there! The final steps are some scheme specific multiple-choice questions and an application form in which you have the opportunity to tell us why you’re interested in the scheme, and what you could bring to the Partnership.

You will need to pass each stage to get to the next.

You can also practice the tests online to familiarise yourself with what to expect- http://jlpjobs.com/the-road-to-partnership/preparation/

Video Interview

If you are successful following the initial online application you will be invited to complete an online video interview.

Assessment Centre

If you get selected following the video interview, you will be invited to come and meet us at an assessment centre. This will be a full day in which you can showcase your skills and ability face to face. You will be put through your paces in a mix of exercises and an interview.

Final Interview

The final step of the process will be a face to face interview with one of our Directors. There is a great opportunity to display your interest for the scheme and the Partnership, and to find out more from one of our business leaders!

You will be able to keep up to date with where you are in the process through the candidate communication centre, and we will also keep you informed via email.

Hopefully you now have a better idea of what to expect when you start your application to join one of our graduate programmes. Please do have a look at our graduate career pages for further information- JLPJobs.com/graduates

Good luck!
